Ernest Boudreau, AMI, FCPA, FCGA, founder, has extensive experience in both public and private sectors and has been involved in auditing in the accounting and auditing field for over twenty-five years. He served as the president of the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada in 1987. He also has extensive experience in public accounting, being involved in various audits and special reports for the public and private sectors and serving as a director on audit committees. He also served on international auditing standards committees. And before founding the firm, for several years, Ernest was Finance Vice-President for a major co-operative in the fishing industry. His main area of practice is client relationship, arbitration and mediation, as well as new businesses, mergers and acquisitions.
Denis Albert, CPA, CA, is the firm’s managing partner in charge of operations, strategic direction and client relationships. He has over eighteen years of experience in accounting, tax planning and business-related matters, having completed the CICA In-depth Tax Course. He also has experience with tax and financial restructuring, financing, business sale and acquisitions. He enjoys meeting clients and providing tax planning and financial advice to help them grow their business and ensure they maintain good profitability. Before joining the firm in 2005, Denis worked with two national accounting firms and was Senior Manager responsible for tax compliance, tax planning and restructuring for small and medium-size clients. He helped implement various tax planning strategies such as creditor proofing, multiplication of the capital gains exemption through family trusts and planning for acquisitions and business sale.
Denis is particularly experienced in the following fields: owner-managed businesses, fishing industry, construction, professional health care, including dental and medical, manufacturing and retail operations. Denis serves on the National Management Committee of Porter Hétu International as Atlantic Canada’s representative of the independent member firms. He volunteers as Treasurer for the Dieppe Multigenerational Community Complex in Dieppe, NB. He is also the Treasurer of Mountain Top House Inc. and past Treasurer of the Dieppe Ringuette Association.
Louis-Paul Savoie, CPA, CA, is the assurance partner in charge of the firm’s operations, personnel development, strategic direction, quality controls and client relationships. He has over fifteen years of experience in accounting and business-related matters. Furthermore, he has extensive experience in financial management, business financial restructuring and re-organization, financing and business acquisition. He enjoys meeting clients and providing financial advice to help them grow their business and ensure they maintain good profitability. Before joining the firm in 2008, he worked with a national accounting firm and was responsible for several audit mandates in Canada and the United States.
He then pursued the role of Financial Controller for a public corporation where he was responsible for the financial reporting process and was part of the team in charge of the corporation’s acquisitions and accounting restructuring. Louis-Paul is particularly experienced in the following fields: owner-managed businesses, fishing industry, construction, professional health care, including dental and medical, engineering and law firms, car dealerships, manufacturing, restaurants and retail operations.
Christian Plourde, LL.B., Mtax is the managing tax partner. He holds a law degree from the Université de Moncton and a Master degree in taxation from the Université de Sherbrooke. He has more than thirteen years of experience in tax planning. Prior to joining the firm in 2009, Christian served as a tax manager for a national accounting firm, and also practiced law in a boutique style law firm specialized in taxation.
Christian specializes in providing services in the areas of acquisitions, amalgamations and divestitures, corporate reorganizations and restructuring, divisive reorganizations - tax butterfly (internal/external), estate and succession planning, inter vivos and testamentary trusts, research – interpretation of tax legislation and policy, harmonized sales tax, notices of objection and tax representation, Voluntary Disclosures Program submissions, Tax Court litigation support, Canada Revenue Agency audit representation, income splitting / access to multiple capital gains exemptions as well as fisheries and agricultural tax issues.
